FEBRUARY 20
I'm getting excited to start the Trek that is only two days away now. Please check back frequently for new pictures, videos & journal entries. Wish me luck!!
Monday - FEBRUARY 22 - Day One
Today started out pretty good. After only about a half mile in it started raining. It just got heavier from there. We saw a whirlpool looking thing in a drainage ditch when it was really coming down and thought that was pretty cool. Hopefully the weather will be better for the rest of the week. Even if it's not let's just hope my raingear dries. The next time you go to Carthage be sure to visit the Coffee Court located downtown. They have really great food too!! I'd like to thank the owners and patrons there for supporting Trek 4 Nets.  Also A special thank you to Emmanuel Baptist Church :-)
Tuesday - FEBRUARY 23 - Day Two
The weather was so great today! I wish the rest of the week could be this nice but it is supposed to rain tomorrow. Today and tomorrow we have very full packs but the rest of the Trek should be lighter. It was much harder with a heavy pack. Since we started out later than planned we didn't get to spend much time at the Dewberry Deli in Cameron but I did get there before they closed and had some chocolate ice cream! On to Sanford tomorrow so stay tuned.  Right now I can smell burgers cooking for dinner! YUM
Friday - FEBRUARY 26 - Day Five
I hiked around Camp Agape for part of the day then finished off hiking out to Cokesbury United Methodist Church which made ten miles. These were some horses  there who came running up to their fence that was next to the church parking lot. I gave them a pet but I think they wanted a treat.
Wednesday - FEBRUARY 24 - Day Three
Today was to be very long with a full (and heavy) pack. Thankfully the wonderful folks we stayed with in Cameron, Pastor Kinney and his wife, Teresa from Countryside Presbyterian, were willing to help up drop a bunch of stuff (like my homework because my Latin book is huge) at our stopping point so we had MUCH less to carry! Woohoo! Thank You! The weather worried me a little after hiking through the downpour Monday. Near our first rest point we were walking past Chas D. Goodwin Trucking and were waved in by Charles! He treated us to a snack and drinks. They were really nice folks and we appreciated the break. Not long after we got back on the road, it began to rain lightly. We made it to our halfway point at 2pm and while taking a break there it began to rain harder. It never really poured, but we were wet and glad to be finished by the time we reached our destination in Sanford. Tomorrow is supposed to be really cold. Usually I like snow, but I hope we don't get any this time. Be sure to check out the new pictures and videos.
Thursday - FEBRUARY 25 - Day Four
Hey guys well today's finally over ....we had a 12,8 mile day today. Actually this morning it snowed for the THIRD time this year. Overall the weather turned out very good and I had alot of fun...can't wait for this weekend, it should be alot of fun with other people there . Today was long but it was one of my favorite days so far. We walked by lots of family farms and enjoyed looking at their animals too. We ended up staying out at Camp Agape. It is a really beautiful place! I'd like to thank the folks there for letting us use their facility.
